The an/tyq-8 (v)2 saawf provides a work site for the senior air director to manage the execution of the air defense plan in his assigned sector.The saawf consists of two cots computers connected via an ethernet backbone to the early warning center(ewc). The ewc interfaces with an an/tyq-23(v)4, taom via an ethernet connection. These components provide the capability to receive, process, and display tactical data link(tdl) data as well as modes and codes of an aircraft.
